Master of Arts (M.A.)Social Management (part-time)
The Social Management M.A. is a part-time degree programme with 25 places which teaches students all the skills they need to take on managerial and leadership roles in non-commercial, commercial and public social institutions and services. The programme is designed for easy integration into students’ professional and personal situations.
Over 5 semesters, professors and lecturers working on the practical level equip students with the skills required for managerial and leadership roles in voluntary non-commercial, private commercial and public institutions and services. The part-time programme is designed for easy integration into students’ professional and personal situations. Media-based study and independent study units which students can complete at times to suit themselves are supplemented with four face-to-face units per semester (one of which is held online). These always take place from Thursday to Saturday.

managerial and leadership functions at different levels (overall, divisional, departmental and team level)

comparable positions in active labour market policy or cultural and education management.

For whom is the study programme suitable?
The programme is intended primarily for those who already have a social sciences degree and want to prepare themselves for managerial and leadership roles or are already undertaking them. It is suitable for all those who would like to extend and further develop their practical knowledge in their field of work.

The programme concept is characterised by a high degree of practical relevance, individual supervision and monitoring, and innovative teaching approaches. The small groups facilitate personal exchanges with the lecturers and other students. Four face-to-face units per semester are supplemented with media-based study and independent study units which you can complete at times to suit yourself. Four 3-day blocks of face-to-face teaching are held per semester.
